A Gencom-led partnership with Miami-based White Bridge Capital acquired the 652-key InterContinental Miami at 100 Chopin Plaza from an entity tied to Strategic Hotels & Resorts, owned by China’s Dajia Insurance Group, according to Gencom’s Business Wire release, Bisnow and Commercial Observer. The announcement landed Oct. 30, 2026; the exact closing date was not stated in the buyer release or in Bisnow’s and Commercial Observer’s coverage. We already filed the deal facts in our Oct. 31 InterContinental Miami report — this piece is the owner read: second InterContinental for Gencom, a third Gencom–White Bridge hospitality JV in about a year, and how to handle a still-blank official price.
Second InterContinental, Third Joint Venture
Gencom’s Business Wire release said the Miami hotel is Gencom’s second InterContinental, after the InterContinental New York Times Square acquired in late 2025. Bloomberg and Miami Business Magazine described the Chopin Plaza deal as the two firms’ third joint hospitality transaction in about a year. White Bridge and its international family-office partners “contributed a significant portion of the equity capital for the acquisition,” the buyer release said, without disclosing the equity split.
Ignasi Puig, Managing Director of Acquisitions at Gencom, said in the Business Wire release: “The InterContinental Miami’s significant recent capital investment, strong operating performance and diversified mix of leisure, corporate and group business provide a solid foundation for long-term value creation to Gencom and its investors.” Commercial Observer also quoted that line. In a second line carried by Bisnow from the same release, Puig said the completed renovation lets the group “focus on strengthening revenue across rooms, meetings and events, and dining while building on the enhanced guest experience in a market with substantial barriers to entry.”
Price Still Blank — Label the Comp Carefully
Gencom’s release does not state a sale price. Bisnow reported that “Gencom declined to disclose the price.” Bloomberg, citing a person familiar with the matter, put the figure at about $300 million; Bisnow cited that same Bloomberg anonymous figure. On 652 keys, $300 million works out to roughly $460,000 a key — that per-key number is derived from Bloomberg’s reported figure, not an official consideration. Public records via Bisnow show Strategic bought the hotel in 2005 for $52.2 million. Business Wire, Bisnow and Commercial Observer did not report a Miami-only prior trade above $500 million; the documented public-records figure Bisnow cites is the 2005 $52.2 million purchase.
